Recorded 6/23/2021.
Facilitated by Olga Trujillo and Leah Green.
Trauma and dissociation are intimately linked, particularly when trauma is first experienced in childhood. Dissociation exists on a spectrum and can be a profoundly powerful tool for survivors who use it to cope with sexual abuse. Olga Trujillo was diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder) at the age of 31. Over the last 28 years they have undergone an intense journey to understand what Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) is, how they developed it, and the impact on their life. Join Leah Green from IowaCASA / Resource Sharing Project as she interviews Olga Trujillo about dissociation, the impact of DID, and what advocates need to know.
